Description
Human SMC3 Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human SMC3 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Glu995-Glu1181, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 23.15 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Structural maintenance of chromosomes protein 3 (SMC3) is a ~141 kDa protein. Central component of cohesin, a complex required for chromosome cohesion during the cell cycle. For research use only.
The cohesin complex may form a large proteinaceous ring within which sister chromatids can be trapped. At anaphase, the complex is cleaved and dissociates from chromatin, allowing sister chromatids to segregate. Cohesion is coupled to DNA replication and is involved in DNA repair. The cohesin complex also plays an important role in spindle pole assembly during mitosis and in chromosomes movement.
