Description
Human SREBF2 Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human SREBF2 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Arg569-Arg773, with an N-terminal His tag. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Sterol regulatory element-binding protein 2 is a ~123 kDa protein. Precursor of the transcription factor form (Processed sterol regulatory element-binding protein 2), which is embedded in the endoplasmic reticulum membrane. For research use only.
Low sterol concentrations promote processing of this form, releasing the transcription factor form that translocates into the nucleus and activates transcription of genes involved in cholesterol biosynthesis.
