Description

Human SRSF2 ELISA Kit

Human SRSF2 ELISA kits are used to detect Serine/Arginine Rich Splicing Factor 2 (SRSF2) in tissue homogenates and other biological samples. SRSF2, also known as SC35, is a serine/arginine-rich splicing factor that is necessary for the splicing of pre-mRNA and is concentrated in nuclear speckles. It is required for formation of the earliest ATP-dependent splicing complex and interacts with spliceosomal components bound to both the 5-prime and 3-prime splice sites, using its RS domain to bridge U1 snRNP and U2AF. It binds purine-rich RNA sequences, can commit beta-globin mRNA to the splicing pathway, and when phosphorylated by SRPK2 is required for apoptosis in response to cisplatin. Recurrent mutations in SRSF2 have been associated with myelodysplastic syndromes and related myeloid neoplasms, so SRSF2 is studied as a splicing regulator and a marker in haematological malignancy.
