Human SYNPO Recombinant Protein (N-His-SUMO) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Ser140-Gly193, with an N-terminal His-SUMO tag. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Synaptopodin is a ~99 kDa protein. Actin-associated protein that may play a role in modulating actin-based shape and motility of dendritic spines and renal podocyte foot processes. For research use only.
Seems to be essential for the formation of spine apparatuses in spines of telencephalic neurons, which is involved in synaptic plasticity.
