Description

Human TECK ELISA Kit

Human TECK ELISA kits are used to detect Thymus Expressed Chemokine (TECK) in serum, plasma and other biological samples. TECK, or thymus-expressed chemokine (CCL25), is a CC chemokine produced by thymic dendritic and epithelial cells and by epithelial cells of the small intestine. It binds the receptor CCR9 and also the atypical receptor ACKR4, and it attracts thymocytes, macrophages and dendritic cells but not peripheral blood lymphocytes or neutrophils. TECK is potentially involved in T cell development in the thymus and directs the homing of CCR9-positive lymphocytes to the gut mucosa. A second isoform has been described that acts as an antagonist of the first. Altered TECK expression has been associated with inflammatory bowel disease, including Crohn disease, and with some cancers, making it a research target in mucosal immunity.
