Description

Human TGOLN2 ELISA Kit

Human TGOLN2 ELISA kits are used to detect Trans Golgi Network Protein 2 (TGOLN2) in tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological samples. TGOLN2 (trans-Golgi network protein 2, also known as TGN46 or TGN38 in the rat) is a type I integral membrane glycoprotein that is highly enriched in the trans-Golgi network and is expressed in most cells. It cycles between the trans-Golgi network and the plasma membrane through endosomes, and its cytoplasmic tail contains signals that direct this recycling. TGOLN2 is thought to be involved in regulating membrane traffic to and from the trans-Golgi network, including the formation of secretory vesicles and the sorting of cargo. Because of its steady localisation, it is widely used as a marker for the trans-Golgi network in cell biology, and altered expression has been reported in some tumours and in studies of secretory pathway function.
