Human TK2 Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human TK2 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Ser51-Pro265, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 27.65 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Thymidine kinase 2, mitochondrial is a ~31 kDa protein. Phosphorylates thymidine, deoxycytidine, and deoxyuridine in the mitochondrial matrix. For research use only.
In non-replicating cells, where cytosolic dNTP synthesis is down-regulated, mtDNA synthesis depends solely on TK2 and DGUOK. Widely used as target of antiviral and chemotherapeutic agents.
