Human TRMT5 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Thr65-Lys475, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 49.22 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. tRNA (guanine(37)-N(1))-methyltransferase is a ~58 kDa protein. Involved in mitochondrial tRNA methylation. For research use only.
Specifically methylates the N1 position of guanosine-37 in various tRNAs. Methylation is not dependent on the nature of the nucleoside 5' of the target nucleoside. This is the first step in the biosynthesis of wybutosine (yW), a modified base adjacent to the anticodon of tRNAs and required for accurate decoding.
