Description

Human TRY ELISA Kit

Human TRY ELISA kits are used to detect Trypsin (TRY) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernatants and other biological samples. TRY, trypsin, is a serine protease of the pancreas that is synthesised by acinar cells as the inactive precursor trypsinogen and stored in zymogen granules. In the duodenum, enteropeptidase converts trypsinogen to active trypsin, which cleaves proteins after the basic residues arginine and lysine and also activates other pancreatic zymogens such as chymotrypsinogen, proelastase and procarboxypeptidase, so it is central to the digestion of dietary protein. Premature activation of trypsin inside the pancreas is a key event in pancreatitis, and variants affecting trypsinogen cause hereditary pancreatitis. Immunoreactive trypsin is raised in pancreatitis and is used in newborn screening for cystic fibrosis, whereas it may be low in pancreatic insufficiency.
