Description

Human TTN ELISA Kit (Small Sample Volume)

Human TTN ELISA kits are used to detect Titin (TTN) in tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernatants and other biological samples. TTN, titin, is the largest known protein and a key component in the assembly and function of vertebrate striated muscle. It spans half of the sarcomere from the Z-disc to the M-line, forming connections at the level of individual myofilaments that help balance forces between the two halves of the sarcomere. Its elastic I-band region determines the extensibility and passive stiffness of muscle. In non-muscle cells it may play a role in chromosome condensation and segregation during mitosis. Variants cause dilated and hypertrophic cardiomyopathies, and myopathies such as myofibrillar myopathy with early respiratory failure, and fragments of titin in urine or blood are studied as markers of muscle damage.
