Human TUBB3 Recombinant Protein (C-His)

Human TUBB3 Recombinant Protein (C-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Met1-Lys450, with a C-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 51.71 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Tubulin beta-3 chain (TUBB3) is a ~50 kDa protein. Tubulin is the major constituent of microtubules, protein filaments consisting of alpha- and beta-tubulin heterodimers. For research use only.

Microtubules grow by the addition of GTP-tubulin dimers to the microtubule end, where a stabilizing cap forms. Below the cap, alpha-beta tubulin heterodimers are in GDP-bound state, owing to GTPase activity of alpha-tubulin. TUBB3 plays a critical role in proper axon guidance and maintenance. Binding of NTN1/Netrin-1 to its receptor UNC5C might cause dissociation of UNC5C from polymerized TUBB3 in microtubules and thereby lead to increased microtubule dynamics and axon repulsion.
