Description

Human TUBb3 ELISA Kit (Small Sample Volume)

Human TUBb3 ELISA kits are used to detect Tubulin Beta 3 (TUBb3) in tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological samples. TUBb3, also known as tubulin beta-III, is a neuron-associated beta-tubulin isotype that dimerises with alpha-tubulin to form microtubules, the dynamic polymers that grow by the addition of GTP-bound dimers and are stabilised by a GTP cap. It is expressed predominantly in neurons and is one of the earliest neuronal differentiation markers, and it is also found in some testicular cells. TUBb3 plays a critical role in axon guidance and maintenance, including projection of dorsal root ganglion axons to the spinal cord, and netrin-1 signalling through UNC5C may alter its dynamics to cause axon repulsion. Variants cause congenital fibrosis of the extraocular muscles and cortical malformations, and high TUBb3 expression in tumours has been associated with resistance to taxane chemotherapy.
