Description

Human UBD ELISA Kit

Human UBD ELISA kits are used to detect Ubiquitin D (UBD) in serum, plasma and other biological samples. UBD, also known as FAT10, is a ubiquitin-like modifier that is made up of two ubiquitin-like domains and is expressed mainly in immune tissues, with strong induction by the inflammatory cytokines TNF and interferon-gamma. It is activated by the E1 enzyme UBA6 and conjugated to target proteins, which then tend to be directed to the 26S proteasome for degradation, a process assisted by NUB1. UBD takes part in the regulation of NF-kappa-B signalling, proteasome subunit expression, antigen presentation and dendritic cell maturation, and it can promote apoptosis. Elevated UBD has been associated with chromosomal instability and several cancers, as well as with inflammatory kidney disease, making it a target of interest in tumour and immune research.
