Description
Human UBE2K Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human UBE2K Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Met1-Asn200, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 24.57 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme E2 K (UBE2K) is a ~22 kDa protein. Accepts ubiquitin from the E1 complex and catalyzes its covalent attachment to other proteins. For research use only.
In vitro, in the presence or in the absence of BRCA1-BARD1 E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase complex, catalyzes the synthesis of 'Lys-48'-linked polyubiquitin chains. Does not transfer ubiquitin directly to but elongates monoubiquitinated substrate protein. Mediates the selective degradation of short-lived and abnormal proteins, such as the endoplasmic reticulum-associated degradation (ERAD) of misfolded lumenal proteins. Ubiquitinates huntingtin.
