Human UBE3C Recombinant Protein (N-His)

Human UBE3C Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Phe719-Ser1083, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 43.64 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Ubiquitin-protein ligase E3C is a ~123 kDa protein. E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase that specifically catalyzes 'Lys-29'- and 'Lys-48'-linked polyubiquitin chains. For research use only.

Accepts ubiquitin from the E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme UBE2D1 in the form of a thioester and then directly transfers the ubiquitin to targeted substrates. Associates with the proteasome and promotes elongation of ubiquitin chains on substrates bound to the 26S proteasome. Also catalyzes 'Lys-29'- and 'Lys-48'-linked ubiquitination of 26S proteasome subunit ADRM1/RPN13 in response to proteotoxic stress, impairing the ability of the proteasome to bind and degrade ubiquitin-conjugated proteins. Acts as a negative regulator of autophagy by mediating 'Lys-29'- and 'Lys-48'-linked ubiquitination of PIK3C3/VPS34, promoting its degradation.
