Description
Human UMOD Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human UMOD Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Glu334-Ser589, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 30.88 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Uromodulin (UMOD) is a ~69 kDa protein. Functions in biogenesis and organization of the apical membrane of epithelial cells of the thick ascending limb of Henle's loop (TALH), where it promotes formation of complex filamentous gel-like structure that may play a role in the water barrier permeability (Probable). For research use only.
May serve as a receptor for binding and endocytosis of cytokines (IL-1, IL-2) and TNF. Facilitates neutrophil migration across renal epithelia.
