Description

Human VASP ELISA Kit

Human VASP ELISA kits are used to detect Vasodilator Stimulated Phosphoprotein (VASP) in tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological samples. VASP, vasodilator-stimulated phosphoprotein, is a member of the Ena/VASP family of actin-associated proteins involved in processes that depend on cytoskeleton remodelling and cell polarity, including axon guidance, lamellipodial and filopodial dynamics, platelet activation and cell migration. VASP promotes actin filament elongation by protecting the barbed ends of growing filaments from capping and by transferring profilin-bound actin monomers onto them. It also plays a role in the actin-based motility of Listeria monocytogenes in host cells. VASP is phosphorylated by cyclic AMP- and cyclic GMP-dependent kinases, and in platelets its phosphorylation state is used as a readout of cyclic nucleotide signalling and P2Y12 inhibition, while it regulates platelet aggregation.
