Description

Human WDR1 ELISA Kit

Human WDR1 ELISA kits are used to detect WD repeat-containing protein 1 (WDR1) in tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological samples. WDR1 (WD repeat-containing protein 1, also called actin-interacting protein 1 or AIP1) is a protein with WD40 repeats that is expressed in most cell types. It works with ADF/cofilin to induce disassembly of actin filaments, enhancing cofilin-mediated severing and so promoting actin turnover. Through this activity WDR1 participates in cytokinesis and in chemotactic cell migration, where it limits lamellipodial protrusions. It is important for the function of leukocytes, platelets and hair cells, and for the normal organisation of sarcomeres in muscle. Mutations in WDR1 cause a periodic fever, immunodeficiency and thrombocytopenia syndrome characterised by impaired actin dynamics in immune cells, and altered expression has been reported in some cancers.
