Description
Isocitrate lyase Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Isocitrate lyase Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Met1-His428, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 49.25 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Isocitrate lyase is a ~47 kDa protein. Involved in the persistence and virulence of M.tuberculosis. For research use only.
Catalyzes the reversible formation of succinate and glyoxylate from isocitrate, a key step of the glyoxylate cycle, which operates as an anaplerotic route for replenishing the tricarboxylic acid cycle during growth on fatty acid substrates. It could also catalyze the formation of pyruvate and succinate from 2-methylisocitrate, a key step in the methylcitrate cycle (propionate degradation route).
