Description

Mouse AhR ELISA Kit

Mouse AhR ELISA kits are used to detect Aryl Hydrocarbon Receptor (AhR) in tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological samples. AhR is a ligand-activated transcription factor of the basic helix-loop-helix PAS family that lets cells respond to chemicals from the environment, diet, gut microbiota and endogenous metabolism. After ligand binding it moves into the nucleus, pairs with ARNT and binds xenobiotic response elements, inducing phase I and II metabolising enzymes such as CYP1A1 and mediating the toxicity of halogenated aromatic hydrocarbons. Tryptophan derivatives are important natural ligands. AhR also contributes to angiogenesis, haematopoiesis, lipid metabolism, immune regulation and circadian clock control. It can suppress anti-tumour immunity and promote cancer cell motility, and variants have been linked to retinitis pigmentosa, so AhR is a significant target in toxicology, immunology and oncology.
