Mouse CD33 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Ala12-Val231, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 26.38 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Myeloid cell surface antigen CD33 is a ~44 kDa protein. Sialic-acid-binding immunoglobulin-like lectin (Siglec) that plays a role in mediating cell-cell interactions and in maintaining immune cells in a resting state. For research use only.
Preferentially binds sialic acid to the short O-linked glycans of certain mucins. CD33 is the therapeutic target of gemtuzumab ozogamicin (Mylotarg).
