Description
Mouse CD71/TFRC Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Mouse CD71/TFRC Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Cys89-Phe763, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 78.19 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Transferrin receptor protein 1 (CD71/TFRC) is a ~85 kDa protein. Cellular uptake of iron occurs via receptor-mediated endocytosis of ligand-occupied transferrin receptor into specialized endosomes. For research use only.
Endosomal acidification leads to iron release. The apotransferrin-receptor complex is then recycled to the cell surface with a return to neutral pH and the concomitant loss of affinity of apotransferrin for its receptor. Transferrin receptor is necessary for development of erythrocytes and the nervous system. Upon stimulation, positively regulates T and B cell proliferation through iron uptake.
