Description

Mouse CD8 ELISA Kit

Mouse CD8 ELISA kits are used to detect Cluster ofDifferentiation 8 (CD8) in tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernatants and other biological samples. CD8 is a cell surface glycoprotein of the immunoglobulin superfamily expressed on cytotoxic T lymphocytes, in most cases as a heterodimer of an alpha and a beta chain, and also on subsets of NK cells and dendritic cells. It serves as a coreceptor for the T cell receptor, binding to a nonpolymorphic region of MHC class I molecules and recruiting the tyrosine kinase LCK to the receptor complex, which enhances antigen sensitivity and signalling. CD8-positive T cells recognise and kill virus-infected and transformed cells, so CD8 is a standard lineage marker in immunology. The number and state of these cells have been associated with antiviral immunity, transplant rejection, autoimmunity and the response to cancer immunotherapy.
