Description

Mouse CD9 ELISA Kit

Mouse CD9 ELISA kits are used to detect CD9 antigen (CD9) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological samples. CD9 is a member of the tetraspanin family of four-transmembrane proteins, found on the surface of many cell types, including platelets, oocytes, haematopoietic and epithelial cells, and on exosomes. It associates with integrins and with other tetraspanins such as CD81 in tetraspanin-enriched microdomains that organize membrane signalling complexes. CD9 is needed for the fusion of sperm and egg, apparently by shaping the oocyte membrane and multiprotein assemblies, and it participates in platelet activation and aggregation, cell adhesion and migration. In muscle it limits myotube fusion during regeneration. Reduced CD9 expression has been associated with increased invasion and metastasis in several cancers, and CD9 is widely used as an exosome marker.
