Description

Mouse CER ELISA Kit (Small Sample Volume)

Mouse CER ELISA kits are used to detect Cerberus (CER) in serum, plasma and other biological samples. CER, Cerberus, also called CER1 or DAN domain family member 4, is a secreted member of the DAN family of cystine-knot proteins, first identified in Xenopus as an inducer of head structures. It acts as a multivalent antagonist that binds several signalling ligands, including BMPs, Nodal and Wnt proteins, and it is expressed in the anterior visceral endoderm and other embryonic tissues. During embryogenesis it may contribute to anterior neural induction and somite formation in part through BMP inhibition, and it regulates Nodal signalling during gastrulation as well as the formation and patterning of the primitive streak. Because it controls these early developmental signals, it is studied in embryology, stem cell differentiation and left-right patterning.
