Mouse CTSE Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Ala21-Pro397, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 43.07 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Cathepsin E is a ~42 kDa protein. May have a role in immune function. For research use only.
Probably involved in the processing of antigenic peptides during MHC class II-mediated antigen presentation. May play a role in activation-induced lymphocyte depletion in the thymus, and in neuronal degeneration and glial cell activation in the brain.
