Description

Mouse DDT ELISA Kit

Mouse DDT ELISA kits are used to detect D-Dopachrome Tautomerase (DDT) in tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological samples. DDT, or D-dopachrome tautomerase (also called MIF-2), is a small protein related to macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF), with which it shares a similar trimeric structure. Its enzymatic activity is the tautomerisation of D-dopachrome with decarboxylation to give 5,6-dihydroxyindole, although the physiological significance of this reaction remains unclear. Like MIF, it acts as a cytokine that binds the receptor CD74 and so activates signalling pathways such as ERK and AMPK, and it is widely expressed. DDT has roles in inflammation, tissue repair and metabolism, and it has been reported to be raised in cancers such as non-small cell lung cancer and in chronic inflammatory conditions, so it is studied as a biomarker.
