Description

Mouse ENSa ELISA Kit

Mouse ENSa ELISA kits are used to detect Endosulfine Alpha (ENSa) in tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological samples. ENSa, or alpha-endosulfine, is a small cytosolic protein that belongs to the cAMP-regulated phosphoprotein family and is expressed in tissues including brain, muscle and pancreatic islets. During mitosis it is phosphorylated by the kinase Greatwall and then binds the PP2A regulatory subunit PPP2R2D, inhibiting this phosphatase. This keeps cyclin B1-CDK1 activity high and helps the cell enter and remain in M phase. ENSa was also identified as an endogenous ligand of the sulfonylurea receptor ABCC8, and by competing with sulfonylurea drugs it may stimulate insulin secretion by closing the KATP channel in beta cells. It is therefore studied in cell cycle control and in diabetes research.
