Description

Mouse EPHX2 ELISA Kit

Mouse EPHX2 ELISA kits are used to detect Epoxide Hydrolase 2 (EPHX2) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernatants and other biological samples. EPHX2 encodes soluble epoxide hydrolase (sEH), a bifunctional enzyme found mainly in the cytosol and peroxisomes of the liver, kidney, heart, vascular tissue and other tissues. Its C-terminal domain has epoxide hydrolase activity and converts epoxides, including arene oxides, into diols, which contributes to xenobiotic metabolism by degrading potentially toxic epoxides. It also determines steady-state levels of physiological mediators, notably by hydrolyzing the epoxyeicosatrienoic acids formed from arachidonic acid, which have vasodilatory and anti-inflammatory effects, into less active dihydroxyeicosatrienoic acids. Its N-terminal domain is a lipid phosphatase that acts on lysophospholipids and isoprenoid phosphates. Inhibition of sEH raises epoxy fatty acids, so it is studied as a target in hypertension, inflammation, pain and cardiovascular disease.
