Description

Mouse EREG ELISA Kit

Mouse EREG ELISA kits are used to detect Epiregulin (EREG) in serum, plasma and other biological samples. EREG, or epiregulin, is a member of the epidermal growth factor family, produced as a membrane-anchored precursor that is cleaved to release the soluble, active ligand. It binds and activates EGFR and ERBB4, stimulating receptor tyrosine phosphorylation and downstream signalling that promotes cell proliferation. Through these receptors EREG contributes to inflammation, wound healing, tissue repair and oocyte maturation, in part by regulating angiogenesis and vascular remodelling. Because EGFR family signalling is central to epithelial growth and tumour progression, epiregulin has attracted interest as a biomarker and research target in cancer and inflammatory disease, where altered levels may reflect changes in epithelial activation and tissue remodelling.
