Mouse FGF21 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Ala29-Ser210, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 21.18 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Fibroblast growth factor 21 (FGF21) is a ~23 kDa protein. Stimulates glucose uptake in differentiated adipocytes via the induction of glucose transporter SLC2A1/GLUT1 expression (but not SLC2A4/GLUT4 expression). For research use only.
Activity probably requires the presence of KLB. Regulates systemic glucose homeostasis and insulin sensitivity.
