Mouse FOLH1 Recombinant Protein (C-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in mammalian cells, spanning Lys45-Ala752, with a C-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 82.39 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Glutamate carboxypeptidase 2 is a ~84 kDa protein. Has both folate hydrolase and N-acetylated-alpha-linked-acidic dipeptidase (NAALADase) activity. For research use only.
Has a preference for tri-alpha-glutamate peptides. In the intestine, required for the uptake of folate. In the brain, modulates excitatory neurotransmission through the hydrolysis of the neuropeptide, N-aceylaspartylglutamate (NAAG), thereby releasing glutamate.
