Mouse FTH1 Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Mouse FTH1 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Gln15-Ser182, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 21.76 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Ferritin heavy chain is a ~21 kDa protein. Stores iron in a soluble, non-toxic, readily available form. For research use only.
Important for iron homeostasis. Has ferroxidase activity. Iron is taken up in the ferrous form and deposited as ferric hydroxides after oxidation. Also plays a role in delivery of iron to cells.
