Description
Mouse GPX1 Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Mouse GPX1 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Gly48-Ser201, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 19.81 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Glutathione peroxidase 1 (GPX1) is a ~22 kDa protein. Catalyzes the reduction of hydroperoxides in a glutathione-dependent manner thus regulating cellular redox homeostasis. For research use only.
Can reduce small soluble hydroperoxides such as H2O2, cumene hydroperoxide and tert-butyl hydroperoxide, as well as several fatty acid-derived hydroperoxides. In platelets catalyzes the reduction of 12-hydroperoxyeicosatetraenoic acid, the primary product of the arachidonate 12-lipoxygenase pathway.
