Description

Mouse LTb ELISA Kit

Mouse LTb ELISA kits are used to detect Lymphotoxin Beta (LTb) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological samples. LTb, or lymphotoxin beta, is a type II transmembrane member of the tumour necrosis factor superfamily, also designated TNFSF3 or TNF-C. It is produced mainly by activated T cells, B cells and lymphoid tissue inducer cells. LTb provides the membrane anchor for the heterotrimeric complex it forms with lymphotoxin alpha, which binds the lymphotoxin beta receptor, LTBR. Through this receptor it may play a specific role in regulating immune responses, and signalling is important for the development of lymph nodes and secondary lymphoid organs and for the organisation of spleen microarchitecture. Dysregulated lymphotoxin signalling has been associated with chronic inflammation and autoimmune disease, and one isoform is probably non-functional.
