Description
Mouse MASP2 Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Mouse MASP2 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Glu24-Glu430, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 47.60 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Mannan-binding lectin serine protease 2 (MASP2) is a ~75 kDa protein. Precursor of a serum protease that activates the lectin pathway of the complement system, a cascade of proteins that leads to phagocytosis and breakdown of pathogens and signaling that strengthens the adaptive immune system. For research use only.
The lectin complement system is activated following association of lectins, such as MBL2, FCN1, FCN2 or FCN3, to carbohydrates on the pathogen surface. MASP2 is cleaved and activated by MASP1 in response to lectin-binding to pathogen carbohydrates. Can activate prothrombin to thrombin.
