Mouse OBP2A Recombinant Protein (N-GST & C-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Ser31-Asp176, with an N-terminal GST tag and a C-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 44.86 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Odorant-binding protein 2a is a ~19 kDa protein. Involved in the regulation of systematic glucose homeostasis and insulin sensitivity. Involved in the regulation of liver lipid levels by positive regulation of hepatic lipogenesis and negative regulation of fatty acid beta-oxidation; via downstream transcriptional regulation of CPT1A and hepatic lipogenic program gene expression. May regulate hepatic lipogenesis and fatty acid beta-oxidation in an autocrine or paracrine manner.
