Description

Mouse OVA sIgG ELISA Kit

Mouse OVA sIgG ELISA kits are used to detect Ovalbumin specific Immunoglobulin G (OVA sIgG) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernatants and other biological samples. OVA sIgG refers to immunoglobulin G antibodies that recognise ovalbumin, the main protein of egg white. Ovalbumin is a standard model antigen in immunology, widely used to sensitise and challenge experimental animals in models of allergy, asthma and vaccination, usually with an adjuvant such as alum. After immunisation, B cells that recognise ovalbumin undergo class switching and become plasma cells that secrete IgG, and the antibody titre reflects the strength of the humoral response. Measurement of OVA-specific IgG is therefore used to follow immunisation efficiency and the effects of adjuvants, drugs and genetic changes on the immune response, and also in studies of egg allergy.
