Description

Mouse PARP ELISA Kit

Mouse PARP ELISA kits are used to detect Poly ADP Ribose Polymerase (PARP) in tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological samples. PARP, represented here by PARP1, is an abundant nuclear enzyme that transfers ADP-ribose units from NAD+ onto target proteins, building poly-ADP-ribose chains. It acts as an early sensor of DNA damage, where serine ADP-ribosylation is the main response and amino acid specificity is guided by partners such as HPF1. The resulting chains recruit repair factors and remodel chromatin around the lesion, making PARP central to single-strand break and base excision repair. Because tumour cells with defects in homologous recombination depend heavily on this pathway, PARP activity and its cleavage fragments are widely measured in studies of DNA repair, cell death and cancer therapy, including the use of PARP inhibitors.
