Description

Mouse PEBP1 ELISA Kit

Mouse PEBP1 ELISA kits are used to detect Phosphatidylethanolamine Binding Protein 1 (PEBP1) in tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological samples. PEBP1, also known as Raf kinase inhibitory protein (RKIP), is a small, widely expressed protein that binds phosphatidylethanolamine, ATP and opioids. It is best known as a modulator of kinase signalling: by binding RAF1 and preventing its interaction with MEK, it dampens signalling through the MAPK/ERK cascade, and it also influences NF-kappa B and G protein-coupled receptor pathways. It can inhibit certain serine proteases, and a cleaved fragment known as hippocampal cholinergic neurostimulating peptide may support the function of cholinergic neurons. Reduced PEBP1 expression has been associated with metastasis in several cancers, so the protein is investigated as a metastasis suppressor and as a marker in neurological and oncological research.
