Mouse PLA2G1B Recombinant Protein (C-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in mammalian cells, spanning Ala16-Cys146, with a C-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 17.74 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Phospholipase A2 is a ~16 kDa protein. Secretory calcium-dependent phospholipase A2 that primarily targets dietary phospholipids in the intestinal tract. For research use only.
Hydrolyzes the ester bond of the fatty acyl group attached at sn-2 position of phospholipids (phospholipase A2 activity) with preference for phosphatidylethanolamines and phosphatidylglycerols over phosphatidylcholines. May play a role in the biosynthesis of N-acyl ethanolamines that regulate energy metabolism and inflammation in the intestinal tract. Hydrolyzes N-acyl phosphatidylethanolamines to N-acyl lysophosphatidylethanolamines, which are further cleaved by a lysophospholipase D to release N-acyl ethanolamines. May act in an autocrine and paracrine manner.
