Mouse PRDX6 Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Mouse PRDX6 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Met1-Pro224, with an N-terminal His tag. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Peroxiredoxin-6 is a ~24 kDa protein. Thiol-specific peroxidase that catalyzes the reduction of hydrogen peroxide and organic hydroperoxides to water and alcohols, respectively. For research use only.
Can reduce H(2)O(2) and short chain organic, fatty acid, and phospholipid hydroperoxides. Has phospholipase activity. Can either reduce the oxidized sn-2 fatty acyl group of phospholipids (peroxidase activity) or hydrolyze the sn-2 ester bond of phospholipids (phospholipase activity). These activities are dependent on binding to phospholipids at acidic pH and to oxidized phospholipds at cytosolic pH.
