Description

Mouse SDHB ELISA Kit

Mouse SDHB ELISA kits are used to detect Succinate Dehydrogenase Complex Subunit B (SDHB) in tissue homogenates and other biological samples. SDHB is the iron-sulfur subunit of succinate dehydrogenase, also called mitochondrial respiratory chain complex II, located in the inner mitochondrial membrane. It relays electrons from succinate, generated in the tricarboxylic acid cycle, to ubiquinone through its iron-sulfur clusters, thereby linking the Krebs cycle directly to the electron transport chain. The enzyme can also oxidise malate to an enol form of oxaloacetate that inhibits its own activity. Loss-of-function variants in SDHB have been associated with hereditary paraganglioma and pheochromocytoma, in which accumulation of succinate disrupts oxygen sensing and epigenetic regulation, making SDHB a useful target for studies of mitochondrial metabolism and tumour biology.
