Description

Mouse SESN1 ELISA Kit

Mouse SESN1 ELISA kits are used to detect Sestrin 1 (SESN1) in tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological samples. SESN1 is a stress-inducible protein of the sestrin family, first identified as a p53-regulated gene (PA26) and expressed in many tissues. It acts as an intracellular leucine sensor that restrains mTORC1 signalling: in the absence of leucine it binds the GATOR2 complex and prevents mTORC1 activation, and leucine binding relieves this inhibition. SESN1 also contributes to protection against oxidative and genotoxic stress, in part by promoting autophagic degradation of KEAP1 and thereby supporting NRF2-driven antioxidant gene expression. As a link between nutrient availability, stress responses and growth control, SESN1 is studied in metabolism, ageing and cancer biology.
