Description

Mouse TP53 ELISA Kit

Mouse TP53 ELISA kits are used to detect Tumor Protein p53 (TP53) in serum, plasma and other biological samples. TP53, which encodes the tumour protein p53, is a multifunctional transcription factor that induces cell cycle arrest, DNA repair or apoptosis on binding to its target DNA sequence, depending on the cell type and physiological circumstances. It acts as a tumour suppressor in many tumour types and is often called the guardian of the genome. It negatively regulates cell division by controlling a set of genes required for this process, including the cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor p21. TP53 is mutated or inactivated in about half of human cancers, and germline variants cause Li-Fraumeni syndrome, so it is one of the most widely studied proteins in oncology.
