Description

Mouse TRKB ELISA Kit

Mouse TRKB ELISA kits are used to detect Tyrosine Kinase B (TRKB) in tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological samples. TRKB, tyrosine kinase B, encoded by NTRK2, is the receptor tyrosine kinase for brain-derived neurotrophic factor and neurotrophin-4, and it binds neurotrophin-3 less efficiently. Ligand binding triggers dimerisation and autophosphorylation, and it recruits adaptors such as SHC1, FRS2 and SH2B1 and phospholipase C gamma to activate the Ras-MAPK pathway for neuronal differentiation and neurite outgrowth, the PI3K-AKT pathway for growth and survival, and PLC gamma signalling for synaptic plasticity. TRKB therefore regulates neuron survival, migration, differentiation, synapse formation, learning and memory, and it can suppress anoikis through NF-kappa B. Altered BDNF-TRKB signalling has been associated with depression, neurodegeneration, obesity and neuroblastoma, so it is a key target of neuroscience research.
