Description
Mouse VWF Recombinant Protein (N-GST & C-His)
Mouse VWF Recombinant Protein (N-GST & C-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Asp1596-Thr1668, with an N-terminal GST tag and a C-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 36.30 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. von Willebrand factor (VWF) is a ~309 kDa protein. Important in the maintenance of hemostasis, it promotes adhesion of platelets to the sites of vascular injury by forming a molecular bridge between sub-endothelial collagen matrix and platelet-surface receptor complex GPIb-IX-V. For research use only.
Also acts as a chaperone for coagulation factor VIII, delivering it to the site of injury, stabilizing its heterodimeric structure and protecting it from premature clearance from plasma.
