Description
NACA Recombinant Protein (N-His)
NACA Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Pro63-Met215, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 19.19 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Nascent polypeptide-associated complex subunit alpha is a ~23 kDa protein. Prevents inappropriate targeting of non-secretory polypeptides to the endoplasmic reticulum (ER). For research use only.
Binds to nascent polypeptide chains as they emerge from the ribosome and blocks their interaction with the signal recognition particle (SRP), which normally targets nascent secretory peptides to the ER. Also reduces the inherent affinity of ribosomes for protein translocation sites in the ER membrane (M sites). May act as a specific coactivator for JUN, binding to DNA and stabilizing the interaction of JUN homodimers with target gene promoters.
