Description
Phosphatase Inhibitor (Sodium Orthovanadate) (BA0260) (BA0260)
The Phosphatase Inhibitor (Sodium Orthovanadate) reagent (SKU: BA0260) is a stable and potent, ready-to-use inhibitor for protein phosphotyrosyl phosphatases (PTPs). Sodium orthovanadate (CAS Number 13721-39-6, Na3VO4) inhibits PTPs competitively, and this inhibition can be reversed by the addition of EDTA or by dilution. Vanadate is commonly used to preserve the protein tyrosyl phosphorylation state in cells and lysates, and this reagent has been activated for maximum inhibition. It is supplied as 1 mL of a 100 mM aqueous solution at pH 10.0, with a suggested working concentration of 1-10 mM. The reagent is shipped at ambient temperature, stored at -20°C and carries a shelf life of 3 years. It is intended for research use only.
