PRSV Capsid Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Asp3091-Asn3344, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 31.25 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Genome polyprotein is a ~381 kDa protein. Required for aphid transmission and also has proteolytic activity. For research use only.
Only cleaves a Gly-Gly dipeptide at its own C-terminus. Interacts with virions and aphid stylets. Acts as a suppressor of RNA-mediated gene silencing, also known as post-transcriptional gene silencing (PTGS), a mechanism of plant viral defense that limits the accumulation of viral RNAs. May have RNA-binding activity.
